Goodbye New Relic

Eight years ago I walked into the CoScale offices to start a new role as a product specialist. I had just left RestOcheck where I loved being an engineer, but I felt it was time for something new and something different. At CoScale I was starting in a role that I had never done before, for a company still looking for market fit, but with two inspirational founders and a fantastic team.

Who knew CoScale would be acquired by New Relic, a company I used so often as an engineer at RestOcheck to improve customer experience and my terribly slow code. New Relic gave me the opportunity to work and live in London, to travel all over Europe meeting so many interesting people and companies, to work together with an amazing group of talented driven people, and to allow me to grow into the product manager role.

Thank you to everyone at New Relic for everything, the learnings, the experiences, the good times, and the bad. It’s crazy to leave, but I felt it was time for something new and something different.

So what now? I’ve thought about this long and hard the last couple of months. So many options: twitch streamer, YouTube creator, inspirational LinkedIn poster, or Onlyfans. As enticing as these options are it’s probably best I focus on something closer to my strengths and experiences: I’m gonna build products with the hope people like and probably more critically are willing to pay for.

But no spoilers (yet). October will be a month to recharge and play with all these shiny new AI toys. If you’re interested in following what I’m up to, make sure to subscribe on LinkedIn, Twitter, or Mastadon (links above)
